About DeviTest

DeviTest is a free collection of browser tests for your devices — screen, keyboard, mouse, controller, speakers, microphone, camera, phone hardware and internet connection. Nothing to install, and the tests run on your own device.

Who is behind it

DeviTest is an independent project made and maintained by Ahmad Asad in Innsbruck, Austria. It started in 2026 as a dead-pixel tester called Screen Doctor Pro and grew into a full device check when people asked for more. It is not affiliated with any manufacturer, shop or repair service. What you can do here

• Check a whole device step by step and get a report — useful before buying a used phone, laptop or monitor (full device check).
• Screen: dead and stuck pixels, backlight bleed, uniformity, banding, contrast, viewing angle, sharpness, OLED burn-in, refresh rate, ghosting, touch, resolution and a real-size ruler.
• Input and sound: keyboard, typing speed, mouse and DPI, controller, speakers, microphone, camera, audio/video sync.
• Connection: internet speed, latency and video-call readiness.
• Guides in plain language — all guides and tests.

How we make sure the tests are right

• Measured vs. observed: every result says whether the browser measured it (for example frame rate, refresh rate, touch coverage) or whether it's your own observation (for example a dead pixel you saw).
• Honest limits: we say what a browser cannot measure — battery health, exact pixel response time in milliseconds, brightness or the exact phone model on an iPhone — instead of showing a made-up number.
• Tested before release: each tool has automated tests in real browsers on phone and computer screen sizes, including error cases such as a blocked camera or a missing microphone. Formulas follow published standards (for example words per minute = characters ÷ 5, PPI from the diagonal, color-vision plates from the Viénot/Brettel model).
• Corrections: when we find a mistake we fix it and note it in the change log. Found one? Tell us.

Our principles

• Privacy first: tests run on your device; results, images and sound are never uploaded. See the privacy policy.
• Safety: we warn before any test with flashing light or loud sound.
• Not a diagnosis: results are a quick, honest check — not a certificate, and the color-vision test is not a medical diagnosis. See the terms of use.
• Works everywhere: phones, tablets and computers, in English, Arabic and ten more languages on the home page, and offline after your first visit.

How the site is funded

DeviTest is free and is paid for by ads from Google AdSense. Ads never influence the tests or the guides, and there are no paid placements or affiliate links.
