Who is responsible
The controller for this website under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the site operator named in the legal notice (Impressum). You can reach us by email at asad.ad.1996@gmail.com or through the contact page.
Data we collect
All screen tests run locally in your browser. We don't upload images, test results or information about your device to our servers, and we have no user accounts.
Local storage
We save your preferences (fixer speed, color pattern, session length, language and theme) in your browser's local storage so they stay the same on your next visit. Some tools also save small settings in the same way, such as your best click-speed and reaction scores and the ruler calibration. This data never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
The full device check saves its progress on this device so you can continue later, and tool results (for example “microphone picked up sound”) for 24 hours so they can appear in the check. Reports are saved only if you press “Save on this device”, and you can delete them from the check page. None of this is sent to us.
The latency test sends about 20 tiny requests to this site’s server to measure response time. Like any page request, they appear in the hosting provider’s short-lived server logs (see “Hosting and server logs”). The video-call test connects the page to itself inside your browser; no audio or video leaves your device.
We also use a service worker to store the site's own files on your device so it works offline. These files contain no personal data.
Camera and microphone
The camera, microphone and phone hardware tests only start after you press a button and your browser asks for permission. Video and sound are processed on your device and are never recorded on or sent to our servers. The 5-second microphone recording stays in your browser and is deleted when you leave the page. Photos you save from the camera test are saved only to your own device.
Fonts
The site uses the fonts already installed on your device. No fonts are loaded from Google or other third-party servers.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). To deliver the pages and protect the service, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and your browser type in short-lived server logs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We don't use these logs to identify you.
Internet speed test
Only when you start the internet speed test, your browser exchanges test data with a server run on Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc., USA; nearest data center). To make the connection, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and technical connection data; the server tells the page only your internet provider's name, your approximate area and the data center used. The test data itself is random and is deleted immediately. We don't store results or IP addresses. The legal basis is the performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Data transfers to the USA are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads through Google AdSense, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Learn more: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a consent message from Google (a certified consent management platform) asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 165(3) TKG 2021). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the privacy settings link shown by that message; withdrawing does not affect processing done before. If you don't consent, Google may still show non-personalized or limited ads. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and never share them with third parties. We delete the conversation when it is no longer needed, unless we have to keep it by law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) or the authority in the EU country where you live. To use your rights, just email us.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the last-updated date at the top will change accordingly.
