Phone hardware test
Check the speakers, microphone, vibration, multi-touch and motion sensors in a couple of minutes — right in your browser.
🔊 Speakers
Play a short tone on each side. With headphones you should hear it only on the chosen side; on a phone with stereo speakers, the sound moves between top and bottom.
🎙️ Microphone
Talk or clap and watch the bar move. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
📳 Vibration
Works on most Android phones. iPhones do not allow websites to vibrate the phone.
✋ Multi-touch
Place your fingers on the box one at a time. A healthy phone screen counts at least 5.
🧭 Motion sensors
Checks the gyroscope and accelerometer that rotate the screen and power games and maps.
Before buying a used phone
Run these checks together with the used phone screen checklist. A faulty microphone or speaker is easy to miss in a quick look but expensive to fix later. Also make a short phone call to test the earpiece, which websites can't access.
If something fails
- No sound: check the volume buttons, silent mode and whether Bluetooth headphones are connected.
- Microphone bar doesn't move: clean the small mic hole carefully and check that no case is covering it. Also make sure the browser has permission.
- Multi-touch stops at 2 or 3: this can point to a non-original replacement screen.
- No sensor readings on a phone: restart the phone. On iPhone, make sure you tapped "Allow" when asked.
Your privacy: every test runs locally in your browser. Microphone sound is only used to move the level bar and is never recorded or uploaded.
